H LTO <br /> Mayor of the City of Redwood City � <br /> City Manager Blom advised that the addreaeograph machine used for water and tax <br /> bille was just about worn out and that it is possible to obtain a new machine <br /> for $931.65 plus 2-1/2� sales tax. The Addzeseograph Company will allow �25 � <br /> Yor the old macnine. Delivery can be made iinmediately. There ie no way the <br /> old macriine can be overhauld and he e.aked authorization to purchase the nevr <br /> machine. Councilman Swift moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that the <br /> City Mana.ger be authorized to purchase a new addreseograph machine on the <br /> basis ae quoted by the City Manager. Under the question� Councilman Granger ' <br /> questioned whether bide had been received. City Attorney McCarthy advised <br /> that it vuas not necessary to inasmuch as the Charter required bide only on <br /> contracts. City Manager Blom pointed out that only one company would be <br /> able to bid on this machine, The motion passed unanimosuly. ' <br /> City Mana.ger Blom presented copies of proposed ordinance�establlsning a Traffic <br /> Safety Commi�eion, The matter wae laid over to allow the Counoll an oppor- <br /> tunity to studq the proposed ordinance. <br /> City Attorney McCarthy presented resolution accepting deed f rom James and <br /> Margaret Corbett to a strip oP land necessary foi the opening of Vera Anenue. <br /> He explained no coneideration wae being paid for the property, Councilman • <br /> i <br />
