Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br /> Councilman Granger asked if any action had been taken.in regard to the ordinance <br /> establisning eetback linee on James and California Avenues. City Attorney Mc- <br /> Cartny advised that he had expected to have some report at this meeting. He <br /> stated that tne Building Inepector has been ordered not to iague perrnits in tha� <br /> area. Councilman Granger asked that the matter be placed on the agenda It <br /> was so ordered. <br /> Councilman Granger questioned the nwnber of billboards in tne Friend Industrial area <br /> and wnetner permite had been received for them. <br /> ' Councilman Granger was of the opinion some consideration ehould be given to discon- <br /> tinuing parking on tne American Trust Company side of California Street from <br /> Winklebleck Street to Broadway. Councilman Nerder was of the opinion that the <br /> etreet ahould either be made a one way etreet or no parking allowed on either <br /> side, however, he was of•the opinion that the master planner was working on a <br /> recommendation for tni's etreet. It waa decided that Hahn and Campbell should <br /> be asked for a report on the matter, <br /> Councilman Britschgi asked if it would be advieable to have a complete survey made <br /> of the water pipe condition in the city, City Manager Blom was of the opinion <br /> that the engineering department was capable of making the decision as to <br /> whether.the size of pipe was sufficient. He stated that if an engineer were <br /> . employed to make a survey for a completely adequate water system, the coat <br /> . � <br /> ' would be prouibitive. <br /> Councflman Britschgi asked if there was a report in regard to parking meters. City <br /> Manager Blom advised that a report is due from Hann and Campbell at the meet- I <br /> ing of September 23. �, <br /> Councilman Armstrong stated he might leave tne State before the next meeting and 'I <br /> ' asked for permission to do so. Permission was granted ' <br /> Claims�No. 152 - 210 in the amount of �28,149.75 were agproved ani •rierefl rail on <br /> motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman Werder.
