WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council of Redwood City to provide <br />economic relief for its employees during this emergency period and any such <br />future emergencies; <br />NOW THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Any regular or probationary City employee who is called into active <br />military duty as a member of the California National Guard or a United States <br />Military Reserve Organization shall receive the following compensation and <br />benefits: <br />a. For the first thirty (30) calendar days of active military service <br />the employee shall, in addition to any military earnings, receive full wages in <br />accordance with the compensation schedule for the classification held by such <br />person. <br />b. Beyond the first thirty (30) calendar days of military duty and <br />up to a maximum of six (6) consecutive months, the City shall pay to the <br />employee the difference between the salary payable pursuant to the employee's <br />classification and the compensation paid by the military service. <br />C. The employee shall receive during the maximum six -month <br />period of military leave, full benefits in addition to salary including vacation and <br />sick leave accruals, and health coverage including dental retirement and other <br />benefits consistent with or provided by the appropriate current memorandum of <br />understanding. <br />14394 <br />F:Atty2001 Shared/Redwood/Council/Reso/Reso-1 255 2 <br />
