10/8/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14392 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REIMBURSEMENT PAYMENTS <br />FOR SCIENCE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM AND SKY HAWKS <br />SPORTS CAMPS <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 2 of Article VII, Section 2.77 of the <br />Redwood City Municipal Code, the City Manager is authorized to enter into <br />contracts for personal services of less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000) <br />without proceeding through a bidding or solicitation process; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.77 of the Municipal Code, in May 2001, <br />the City entered into vendor agreements with Science Enrichment Program, <br />hereinafter referred to as "SEP ", and Sky Hawks Sports Camps, hereinafter <br />referred to as "SHSC", whereby SEP and SHSC would provide classes through <br />the Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and <br />would be reimbursed on the basis of eighty (80 %) percent of revenues received; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, due to the popularity of the classes offered by SEP and <br />SHSC, 80% of their revenues exceeds the $10,000 limit on entering into <br />agreements for personal services without City Council consent; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff believes that based upon the performance of the <br />two vendors, reimbursement of the full 80% of revenues received is fair and <br />appropriate; <br />NOW THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />F:Atty2001 Shared /Redwood /Council /Reso /Reso -1253 1 <br />
