Aside fi•om
two emergency repairs, no channel impirovements have been madc since the mid 1960's. The
purpose ofthe following scope of services is to identify locations whu•e Creak failures hnve !
star[ecl end to document undersized porlious oFlhe Creek. '
! BKF will utilize FSMA and prevlous Master Plen design peak flow rates to devebp a 30-year
' design Creck peak flow rate. At this tima, w efforts u•e piuposed for adjusting peak flow rates to
account for c}enge in urbaniwtion. BKF hes conducted several hydrologic investigations of the
Creek including for Barron Park and for projects alang the main bianah of Redwood Creek. Ae a
part ofUiese analyses, BICF has looked at the effect that the Emereld Hills iakes have oo peak
flow rates. Detailed hydrologic modeling is not proposed as u part of the investigation. BKF will i
utilize available existing chennel configwation information from previous reports end as-bullt i
drawings. Limited survey data will be conducted to determine wheUer chawel outting or fllling
, is occurring that is changing channel dimensions end to confirm datum ofexisting channel cross ;
sect[on information. I
I
The project team will walk the Creak to ideMify Creek sagments that require repalr. Sd Bosaacci will ec[ as the Project Manager and will be the prLnary poirt of contnct.
BKF will prepnre base maps using L1DAR survey availsble from San Mateo Counry and will use j
aerial photos provided either by the City or obtained from a web site such as Googla Berth. I
i
BKF will collect chennel conflguration data from the City. Deslgn flow retas will ha obtained i
&om the 1986 Master Plan, and will ba compared with FEMA tlows end flow rates cakutated
for other projects. Tha various flow ratas will be compared to establish reasonablenass based on j
current operations of the Lake. j

I
TASK 2— Basls of Rev►ew
BI{F will prepara a basis of reviaw identi4ying kay parameters to ba used in the flow capacity
study, such es channel roughnass, BKF will provide the base map developed in Task 1 that will
1
