The Public Ally has already been selected and placed with the Fair Oaks
Community Center Information and Referral Team. The funding provided will cover the
full costs of the placement.
The addition of the Benefits Navigator position at Fair Oaks Community Center will
enhance the services available as a part of the Information and Referral Program and
will offer significant assistance to immigrants and non-immigrant community members in
securing public benefits that will prevent many in our community from becoming
homeless.
ALTERNATIVES
The Council could choose to modify the Memorandum of Understanding or choose to
not enter into the partnership with LIBRE as described in the Memorandum of
Understanding.
FISCAL IMPACT
The funding provided for under the Memorandum of Understanding will fully fund the
cost of the Public Ally Benefits Navigator placement. If approved and authorized, the
appropriation of funds will come before the Council as a part of the FY 11-12 mid-year
budget adjustments.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
N/A

TERI CHIN,
HUMAN SERVICES MANAGER
 '

CHRISTOPHER BETH,
PARKS, RECREATION,AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR

ROBERT B.
