7.C. - Page 2
Detailed engineering study and environmental evaluation to determine hydraulic effects,
constructability, and feasibility of improvements are needed to provide a complete
analysis of the situation and the range of mitigation options. A clearer understanding of
likely costs will become available as the study progresses and the alternative is
developed. The engineering report enables staff to proceed with the required California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) analysis, submit to other regulatory agencies for
permitting requirements, and to develop accurate cost estimates.
Staff will continue to communicate and coordinate with other jurisdictions, neighborhood
associations, and commercial property owners to explore technical and financial
alternatives to mitigate flooding for the communities near the Bayfront Canal and will
provide regular updates to the Storm Drainage Subcommittee.
ALTERNATIVES
This is an information -only staff report. No Council action is required.
FISCAL IMPACT
This is an information -only staff report and no fiscal impact is associated with this report.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The City of Redwood City has determined that this report does not propose any
action(s) at this time that constitute a project as defined by the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA).
GRACE LE, PE
SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER
49(11
BILL EKERN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
ROBERT B.
