B. - Page 1
REPORT
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the City Manager
October 24, 2011
SUBJECT
Temporary suspension of parking meter rates in downtown
RECOMMENDATION
Approve, by motion, the temporary suspension of parking meter rates in downtown on
Saturday, December 3rd, 2011
BACKGROUND
On December 3, 2011, the Downtown Business Group will hold its annual Hometown
Holidays event, a parade and festival to celebrate the winter holiday season, in
downtown Redwood City. No. 2287, § 2, 8 -22 -2005; Ord. No. 2329, § 1, 5- 12 -08)
ANALYSIS
Meter rates have been suspended in the past for the Hometown Holidays festival.
Other than the loss of parking revenue for the day, this action has created no negative
impact. In a separate action related to the Parking Ordinance, staff recommends
