Box 391 Redwood City, CA 94064 <br />E -Mail Address: chammack(o)redwoodcity.org Telephone: (650) 780 -7378 <br />Secondary Contact (in event primary not available) <br />Short Title Description of Protect: Brewster Avenue Bicycle Improvements <br />Amount of claim: $107,640.00 <br />Functional Description of Project: <br />Install bicycle facilities on Brewster Avenue between Broadway and Alameda de Las Pulgas, and on <br />Broadway between Brewster Avenue and El Camino Real, a total length of approximately 1.1 miles. <br />Includes installation of new Class II bike lanes: on Brewster Avenue between Broadway and Elwood <br />Street by re- striping from four vehicle lanes to three lanes, and on Broadway between Brewster Avenue <br />and Arch Street by realigning vehicle lanes. Also includes installation of sharrow pavement markings, <br />"Share the Road" signage, and bike route signage on Brewster Avenue between Elwood Street and <br />Alameda de Las Pulgas to clearly designate this Class III bike route. New bike - sensitive detectors and <br />pavement markings will be installed at the signalized Brewster /Broadway intersection. The addition of <br />bike lanes, sharrows, signage, and bike detectors will promote safety for both bike riders and vehicle <br />traffic on Brewster Avenue, which along with added convenience for bicyclists will encourage more <br />bicycle use in the area. <br />Financial Plan: <br />List the project elements for which TDA funding is being requested (e.g., planning, environmental, engineering, right - <br />of -way, construction, inspection, contingency, and audit).
