B. - Page 12 <br />FORM LETTER TO AFFECTED UTILITY USERS <br />OF PUBLIC SERVICES EASEMENTS OF THE DESCRIBED PORTION OF WALNUT STREET <br />RE: CONDITIONAL VACATION OF RIGHT -OF -WAY, INCLUDING THE PUBLIC SERVICES <br />EASEMENT, OF THE DESCRIBED PORTION OF WALNUT STREET <br />Dear <br />The City of Redwood City will be considering a resolution of intent to vacate the right -of -way and <br />public services easement of the described portion of Walnut Street thereunder, subject to <br />satisfaction of certain conditions (including approval of utility plans by all affected agencies utility <br />providers), at a public hearing on October 24, 2011. Copies of the notice of public hearing, <br />which includes a map showing the area proposed to be vacated, and proposed resolution of <br />intent to vacate are enclosed. <br />The City and Kaiser have worked together over the last several months to accommodate an <br />emergency drop -off area and entrance for Kaiser's new hospital under construction in Redwood <br />City. The City proposes to vacate approximately 12,400 square feet of existing City right -of -way <br />along a portion of Walnut Street. On October 24, 2011 the City Council of City of Redwood City <br />will consider adoption of a Resolution of Intent to Vacate a portion of Walnut Street, a City right - <br />of -way dedicated and accepted for public use, and Acceptance for the Dedication of a public <br />utility easement to the City. A Public Hearing on this matter is expected to be set no sooner <br />than November 14, 2011 at 7pm in City Council Chambers. <br />Further details regarding the conditions to effectiveness of the vacation are set forth in the <br />enclosed resolution of intent to vacate. <br />As soon as utility plans for this project become available, they will be sent to you for review and <br />approval.
