Mayor Ira thanked Ms. Howard for all her work and especially the <br />committee that works so well together and gets so much done. <br />6. PUBLIC COMMENT AND CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Paul Supplee said he lives at Pete's Harbor, and he bikes everyday to Caltrain for work. <br />He commented that there is a new development at Bair Island Road, but expressed <br />concerns about the bypass, road closure, lack of bicycle lanes, how the roads are <br />narrower and it is a more dangerous situation for bike riders. He inquired about an <br />ordinance regarding the new construction of bicycle lanes. <br />Mayor Ira said that staff will follow up with him with more detail and Mr. Ekern, provided <br />Mr. Supplee with his card for further contact. <br />Dr. Steven Howard spoke about volunteerism and a flood situation in Salt Lake about <br />30 years ago where the community was called upon en mass to solve the problem. He <br />opined that our catastrophe is an economic one and encouraged looking for ways the <br />community can be involved to become part of the solution and look more at what we <br />can do as opposed to what we cannot do. <br />M/S Pierce/ Bain to approve the Consent Calendar excluding 6.3D. Motion carries <br />unanimously by electronic vote. <br />Agenda item 6.3 B pulled for discussion - Council Member Pierce commented on the <br />Architectural Advisory Committee and how she would like to ensure that the Council's <br />intent is kept. She requested a review of this matter within one year. She does not <br />want unintended consequences to go unnoticed. Mayor Ira confirmed that was the <br />intent. Council Member Gee said that the only change was on its reporting structure but <br />this body still has a valid mission. <br />M/S Seybert /Gee approval of agenda item 6.3B. Motion carries 6 -1with Foust <br />opposing. <br />CITY COUNCIL /REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD ACTION: Waive reading of <br />the consent calendar and the full text of ordinances and resolutions, and approve the <br />Consent Calendar items. <br />1.
