The original agreement for $40,120 was executed by the City Manager because
it was under $60,000.
The contract has been amended three times to accommodate unanticipated changes to
the scope of work, including additional meetings, alternate design concepts, additional
Precise Plan graphics, and analysis of EIR mitigation measures.
ANALYSIS
A fourth amendment to the contract in the amount of $19,274, which would bring the
total cost of services to $147,048, is necessary to complete the Precise Plan work. The
amendment will cover costs to prepare and finalize interim Precise Plan
circulation /traffic, implementation, phasing and monitoring policies based on the revised
draft EIR and to prepare the draft and final Precise Plans and attend public hearings.
Stanford University has agreed to submit additional funds to cover this expense. It is
anticipated that the Draft Stanford Precise Plan will be released for public review in
December and then will be forthcoming for Council consideration early next year.
ALTERNATIVES
Do not authorize execution of the Fourth Amendment to the Agreement with Bottomley
Design and Planning.
