B. - Page 3 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY AMENDING THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR FIRE <br /> PREVENTION AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 11593 <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 11593, adopted September 16, 1991, <br /> this City Council adopted a fee schedule for the Redwood City Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Chief and the Fire Marshal have determined that the fees <br /> adopted by said Resolution No. 11593 are insufficient to cover the costs to the City for <br /> providing the services for which such fees are charged and has proposed revisions <br /> thereto; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 66016, the Fire Department <br /> made available to the public data indicating the amount of cost, or estimated cost, <br /> required to provide the services for which the proposed fees will be charged and the <br /> revenue sources anticipated to provide the services, including general fund revenues; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, MAXIMUS Consulting Services, Inc. conducted a Fire Marshal- Fire <br /> Prevention Fee Cost Study to determine the sufficient fees to cover the costs to the City <br /> for providing such services. The study was completed in June of 2011; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council considered said proposed fees and fiscal data at a <br /> regularly scheduled public meeting and duly noticed public hearing on December 12, <br /> 2011 notice of which was mailed to interested parties who had requested such notice at <br /> least 14 days prior and published twice prior to said meeting and hearing together with a <br /> general explanation of the matter to be considered; and <br /> WHEREAS, upon consideration of the recommendation of the Finance <br /> Subcommittee that said fees be adopted, and upon consideration of the aforesaid fiscal <br /> data, this Council has determined that the proposed fees will not create revenues in <br /> excess of the amount required to perform those services for which the fees will be <br /> charged. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. This Council does hereby adopt those fees set forth in Fire Prevention <br /> Fees as outlined in Table No. A-1, "Unit Fee Schedule — Development Related Plan <br /> Review and Inspection Fees" and Table No. A-2, "Unit Fee Schedule — Non- <br /> Development Related Fees"; all of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein <br /> by this reference. <br /> 2. Such fees shall be revised each year by a percentage equal to the <br /> percentage change in the annual San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose consumer Price <br /> ATTY/RES0.2176/FIRE FEE SCHEDULE <br /> REV: 11 /29/11 1 <br />
