8.A. - Page 1 <br /> RE PO RT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the Cit Clerk <br /> December 12, 2011 <br /> SUBJECT <br /> Appointment of one applicant to a vacant seat on the Planning Commission <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends that Council make an appointment to the Planning Commission to fill <br /> one un-expired seat that will expire on June 30, 2012. The applicants for consideration <br /> are: Jay Neville, Craig Robinson, Shawn White, Simms Duncan, Paul Sanfilipo, and <br /> Hope Sullivan. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The Council received a resignation from a Planning Commissioner in late September <br /> 2011. The recruitment process was led by the City Clerk Department. <br /> ANALYSIS <br /> Council received fourteen applications for the one unexpired seat on the Planning <br /> Commission. After review of all applications, Council selected six applicants for <br /> interviewing. Interviews took place on November 21, 2011 with four applicants present <br /> and two absent.
