Redwood City Mixed U Corridor Distri <br />Zoning Ordinance Amendment <br />Boulevard Initiative vision and the Downtown Precise Plan design goals. The purposes of the <br />UC -ECR sub - district are to: <br />1. Transform FI Camino Real into a remarkable, walkable, and exciting corridor, home to a <br />variety of residential and nonresidential uses. <br />ii. Facilitate a pedestrian - scaled environment with buildings that emphasize active and <br />stre et-oriented fro ntages, we ll-scaled and designed bu ildings, and engaging outdoor <br />spaces and landscaping. <br />iii. Allow for higher - intensity residential, commercial, and mixed --use buildings to provide <br />the appropriate height relative to the width of the :street. <br />l <br />iv. Provide increased opportunities in Redwood City f6t residents to live near Roods, <br />services, transit, and entertainment. _ <br />v. Ensure that consideration and p'm r transition is provided to-,adjacent lover- density <br />residential uses. <br />vi. Encourage add itional pedestrian and transit" amenities along El Ca ni ino Real and the <br />development of a consistent., Street front with ample public right -of -way to facilitate <br />pedestrian environment: <br />b. Encourage the implementation of street patterns of a similar scale to adjoining historic <br />areas. <br />c.
