MI NUTE ORDER
N0: 85-177
CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT
Redwood City
DATE: November 22, 1985
Attention: City Manager .
City Attorney
Cormnunity Dev. Director
SUBJECT: Revocation Proceedinqs -- Whipple Avenue Lodge Use Permit (203-06)
Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on November 18, 1985
Present: Councilmen Bury, Chandler, Claire, Rhodes, Stangel and Vice Mayor Moser ,
Absent: Mayor Britschgi
The following motion was made and entered on the minutes:
M/S: Claire/Chandler to direct Zoning Administrator to hold a public
hearing on the matter of revocation of a Use Permit, Whipple Avenue
Lodge.
City Attorney Schricker suggested that important issues to be considered
are whether transient occupancy is a relevant use for the property, and
also that because of the history of compliance and non-compliance with
various codes and conditions of the Use Permit, if there are persons
present regarding the matter, it would be appropriate to hear them.
David Presotto, 221 Howland Street, described continuing unsatisfactory
conditions at the Whipple Lodge, and events apparently related to what
he described as an undesirable element which is attracted to the lodge.
Judy Buchan, 1126 Allerton Street, stated that she is pleased that there is
finally an opportunity to do something about the problem, and that the
Lodge attracts an element they do not want in the neighborhood.
The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
'
}' JACQUELINE C. HILDEBRAND
` City Clerk
