Director ' <br /> SUBJECT: Appeal of Zoning Administrator decision - 694 E1 Camino Real (203-10) <br /> Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on December 2, 1985 <br /> Present: Councilmen Bury; Chandler, Claire, Mosher, Stangel and <br /> Mayor Britschgi . <br /> Absent: Councilman Rhodes , <br /> The following motion was made and entered on the minutes: <br /> M/S: Chandler/Mosher to uphold the decision by the Zoning Administrator <br /> to deny applications of Ho Kyong.Song for a Use Permit and Architectural <br /> Permit for outdoor sales.of inerchandise, 694 E1 Camino Real, and approve <br /> the findings of the Zoning Administrator as follows: <br /> 1) that prolonged outdoor sales events have the effect of depressing <br /> property values in the vicinity; <br /> 2) established businesses in permanent buildings are placed at a <br /> disadvantage by an outdoor sales enterprise nearby, and the result <br /> could be failed businesses and building vacancies which in turn <br /> would depress pr.operty values in the vicinity; and <br /> 3) this application is for permanent outdoor sales, rather than for <br /> shortterm outdoor sales as a special promotional event, and <br /> therefore would be detrimental and injurious to properties and <br /> property values in the vicinity. <br /> Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> �.�'Od". , <br /> #; dl JACQUELINE C.
