Attention: 'City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> Housing Coordinator <br /> HHCC Comnittee <br /> SUBJECT: Housing and Human Concerns Cortrtnittee re emerqencv shelters (302-10) <br /> Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on March 18, 1985 <br /> Present: Councilmen Bury, Chandler, Claire, Mosher, Rhodes, Stangel, <br /> and Mayor Britschgi <br /> Absent: None <br /> The fo.11owing motion was made and entered on the minutes: <br /> M/S: Rhodes/Clai,re to proceed to implement the recommendations contained in <br /> the Housing and Human Concerns Committee Report of March 7, 1985, and to <br /> thank the Cortunittee for their prompt and complete report. <br /> (Recomnendations: <br /> 1. Based on the information in the HHCC Report of March 7, 1985 the City <br /> move forward in establishing its own emergency shelter by assigning <br /> the appropriate staff/committee members to determine: <br /> a) suitable location. <br /> b) availability of funding at Federal, State and local levels. . <br /> c) desired staffing patterns or non-profit agency to run the <br /> •fac i li ty. <br /> "2. Further, the Cortmittee believes the City should either identify an <br /> existing non-profit entity to operate the shelter, or establish a new <br /> non-profit for this purpose. • <br /> 3. The City should encourage the non-profit entity to work in <br /> cooperation with local, County, State and Federal agencies, as well <br /> as the private sector and the community at large to establish a <br /> shelter network capable of serving the entire County.) <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> JACQUEL C,: HILDEBRAND <br /> City C1 • <br />
