, � � <br /> M I N U T E `0 R D E R <br /> N0: 85-77 <br /> CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br /> Redwood City <br /> DATE: June 7, 1985 . , <br /> Attention: City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> Planning Director <br /> SUBJECT: Appeal of Zoning Administrator decision -(Wood's Texaco Service) (203-06) <br /> Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on June 3, 1985 <br /> Present: Councilmen Chandler, Claire,. hbsher, Rhodes, Stangel, <br /> and Mayor Britschgi <br /> Absent: Councilman Bury <br /> The following motion was made and entered on the minutes: <br /> M/S: Chandler/Mosher to uphold the denial by the Zoning Administrator of ' <br /> application of Robert S. Wood for a Use Permit to allow sale of beer and wine <br /> as an accessory use at a service station, 502 Whipple Avenue, and that the <br /> following findings be made: <br /> 1. That the granting of the Use Permit allowing sale of alcoholic beverages <br /> at a mini-market would be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, <br /> morals, comfort, and general welfare of persons residing or working in <br /> the neighborhood of the proposed use, and would be injurious or <br /> detrimental to property or improvements in the neighborhood and to the <br /> general welfare of the City in that sale of alcoholic beverages in <br /> conjunction with the sale of petroleum products creates an appearance of <br /> encouraging conduct inconsistent with safety in the use of motor <br /> vehicles; <br /> 2. That no other service.station with mini=markets in the vicinity of the <br /> applicant's property are legally permitted to sell alcoholic beverages; <br /> and <br /> 3. that communities in the vicinity of Redwood City likewise prohibit the <br /> sale of alcoholic beverages in mini-markets operated in conjunction with <br /> service stations.
