� MINUTE ORDER <br /> N0:.84-184 <br /> CITY CLERK DEPARiMENT <br /> Redwood City <br /> DATE: November 30, 1984 <br /> Attention: City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> Director of Public Works <br /> Police Chief <br /> Fire Chief <br /> SUBJECT: Edgewood Road Traffic Problems (1104) <br /> Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on November 26, 1984 <br /> Present: Councilmen Bury, Chandler, Claire, hb sher, Rhodes, Stangel, and <br /> Mayor Britschgi <br /> Absent: None <br /> The following motion was made and entered on the minutes: <br /> M/S: Claire/Mosher 1) to appoint a committee of representatives of residenta <br /> of the entire area of Edgewood Road/Whipple Avenue and adjacent streets, two <br /> members of the City Council and appropriate members of City staff to study <br /> the traffic problems on an areawide basis; and 2) to instruct the City <br /> Manager and Police Chief to take a look immediately at enforc enent <br /> requirements on Edgewood Road, Whipple and Alameda, including the possibility <br /> of additionaT enforcement personnel. <br /> ADDITION TO MOTION: At the suggestion of Councilman Chandler and with the <br /> consent of his second, Councilman Claire added to his motion that staff <br /> should proceed immediately to implement the following recommendations: 1). <br /> that Wellesley crescent be made a one-way street; 2) that curb signs be <br /> installed by Manor Court and Langton on Edgewood Road;,3) that bike lane <br /> stripes be dashed through intersections; and 4) that stop signs be installed <br /> in the Edgewood study area as determined by staff. <br /> In response to question, Fire Chief 0'Brien said that if no diverters are <br /> installed, he does not anticipate any problems for emergency vehicles. <br /> The motion carried unanirrrously by roll call vote. <br /> JACQUELI .
