Lee & Associates for
Conditional Variance for a 41-foot driveway width for Chevron Self-Serve/Mini
Market, 2215 E1 Camino Real subject to the conditions contained in the Report
of the City Manager of August 2, 1984, with the finding being made that
strict application of the provisions of Redwood City Code Section 29.19 would
create practical difficulty or unnecessary hardships in that the driveway
width specified in Section 29.19 would:
1) create traffic congestion on E1 Camino real and enhance the probabilities
of rear-end type collisions on the street;
2) create blockage of vehicles on the subject premises, likewise enhancing
the probability of collision; and
3) as a result of the conditions described under (a) and (b) above, would
create an unnecessary hardship upon the applicant by ultimately
discouraging a use permitted for the property under the Zoning Ordinance.
Carried unanimously by voice vote.
C L NE C.
