The purpose
of the San Mateo County Child Care Partnership Council is to collaboratively develop,
promote and update a plan for a comprehensive, countywide childcare and
development system. It provides a community venue where the impact of state and
federal child care and family policies, proposed legislation or regulation can be
examined from multiple viewpoints.
ANALYSIS
Currently, the Child Care Coordinator position is a half time position due to past budget
reductions. Council requested that staff continue to work with our community partners
to try to add back more hours to this position. As a result of staff's outreach efforts,
qualifications and countywide relationships, the San Mateo County Superintendent has
asked that the Child Care Coordinator provide services to support the work of the
County's Child Care Partnership Council. The County is willing to contract with the City
to reimburse the Child Care Coordinator hours up the equivalent of .3 FTE, plus travel
