7. PUBLIC HEARING(S) - None <br /> 8. STAFF REPORT(S) — None <br /> 9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Members Reports of Conferences/Meetings Attended <br /> Mayor Ira thanked Council Members Seybert and Gee for helping pass the revenue <br /> Measures I and K on the ballot. He also thanked the community for voting for these <br /> Measures which will place the City in a better financial place. He noted this was part of <br /> a three pronged approach which included concessions, revenue measures and <br /> reorganization. Council Member Gee countered that this was a team effort and many <br /> people worked hard to make this happen. He too expressed his gratitude to the <br /> community, business community and to volunteers. <br /> Council Member Gee reported on how SAMTRANS is looking to improve its service <br /> plan and there are a number of workshops on how the routes can be improved to better <br /> serve the users. The goal is to increase ridership to be in a better financial situation. <br /> He suggested that the public look at the SAMTRANS website to get information and <br /> possibly attend the public workshops. <br /> Council Member Foust announced that tomorrow at Palo Alto there will be a meeting to <br /> receive public comment on the draft business plan for the California High Speed Rail. <br /> There will be three statewide meetings to accept comment on the Draft Business plan <br /> that was released on November 1, 2011. She noted that all are invited to attend and <br /> the document is available on the California High Speed Rail website. <br /> Council Member Pierce reported on attending a HOPE House meeting regarding <br /> Redevelopment and how San Mateo and Menlo Park have housing impact fees. These <br /> are to fund affordable housing. Council Member Pierce commented that Redwood City <br /> does not have inclusionary zoning and she looks forward to a conversation about what <br /> other jurisdictions are doing. <br /> B.
