Red 7.A. - Page 17 <br /> CIt11 oundedlBBa � � ty o� �e�wood �ity '�017 �ic�d�e�ie�d Roac�, h�eclwood �i�ty, �a�ifomia 940��� <br /> y��*��,������� Development Deparh�nent ����� ������'��� � � ����� �������� <br /> '�� �� �` � �. t ._ ,., �. � -� _ +� , �t r � xa, `�. � . _ , �r ' a:,, _ . � <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Redwood City, State of California, will hold a Public <br /> Hearing at the stated time and place to consider the following: <br /> Date: January 23, 2012 <br /> Time: 7:00 PM or as soon thereafter as the normal course of business permits <br /> Place: City Council Chambers, City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Avenue, Redwood City <br /> Subject: Consideration of adopting an ordinance to create the Middlefield Road Underground Utility <br /> District 2011-1 <br /> The purpose of the Middlefield Road Underground Utility District 2011-1 will be to require the removal of poles, <br /> overhead wires and associated overhead utility and communication structures from any public streets, alleys <br /> or ways within the District; to require the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, <br /> communication, or similar or associated services, with the exception of transformers and service pedestals <br /> (which are normally installed above ground) from any streets, roads, alleys or ways within the Proposed <br /> District; and to require that all future wires and facilities for supplying electric, communications, cable television, <br /> and /or similar services be installed underground. <br /> The boundary map and legal description for the proposed Middlefield Road Underground Utility District 2011-1 <br /> are available for viewing at the City Clerk's Office located at 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. <br /> If the Ordinance is adopted and the District established, then it shall be unlawful for any person or utility <br /> company to erect, maintain, or operate any pole, overhead wire, or associated structure (with the exception of <br /> transformers and service pedestals normally installed above ground) in any portion of the street, road, alley or <br /> way within the District. <br /> The City qualifies for reimbursement under California Public Utilities Commission Rule 20A for a portion of the <br /> costs incurred by the City for undergrounding overhead utilities in the proposed District. <br /> Any objection must either be given in person at the time of the Public Hearing or received in writing by the <br /> Community Development Department prior to the date of the Public Hearing. Testimony cannot be given over <br /> the telephone.
