Approve the amended fee schedule for fire prevention and rescind <br /> resolution no. 11593 <br /> Recommendation: <br /> By resolution, amend the fee schedule for fire prevention and rescind <br /> resolution no. 11593. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 15158 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY AMENDING THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR FIRE PREVENTION AND <br /> RESCI N DI NG RESOLUTI ON NO. 11593 <br /> Recommendation: <br /> By resolution, amend the fee schedule for fire prevention and rescind <br /> resolution no. 11593. <br /> Mr. Jim Palisi, Fire Marshall, presented the report regarding the Fire Department fees <br /> and he noted that there are unfunded state mandated inspections that have to be <br /> performed annually. He noted that the Fire Department has not charged inspection fees <br /> since 1991 and therefore he is presenting fees for adoption and this is also in <br /> accordance with the City of San Carlos. He provided some details on a nexus study <br /> which included areas within the nine bay area counties and outside of this area. <br /> Mayor Aguirre noted that it is her hope that we stay on top of these fees and stay on a <br /> schedule and not wait ten years to update. Another Council Member appreciated the <br /> nexus study and thanked the Fire Department for all its work on this front and she <br /> encourages the department to continue looking for efficiencies and revenues. One <br /> Council Member asked how the CPI (consumer price index) adjustment will be <br /> incorporated into the fee and Mr. Palisi said it is on a fiscal year basis and it will be <br /> applied next fiscal year. <br /> Mayor Aguirre opened the Public Hearing. There was no public comment. <br /> M/S Seybert/Gee to close the Public Hearing. Motion carried by voice vote. <br /> M/S Seybert/Pierce to adopt the resolution. Motion carried by unanimous electronic <br /> vote. <br /> C.
