The following sugg sti ns were r also made: integrate and coordinate the City's General Plan <br />work with San Mateo County's work especially In the forth Fair Oaks area., provide <br />clarification on the relationship between the General Plan and zoning, and provide clarity on <br />how a General Plan gets amended. The City Council and Planning Commissioners <br />encouraged the public to expand their sphere of influence by charring the news about the <br />project with neighbors and friends, encouraging involvement. There was consensus to <br />continue promoting public participation and seek representation from a cross section of the <br />population. <br />In her closing remarks, Mayor Foust referred to her State of the City Address and how the mix <br />of optimism and realism are needed to roach compromise. Mayor Foust clarified that the City <br />Council is working with Interim City Manager Ingram to develop a City led outreach process <br />for th Cargill Salt corks. issue. <br />Laura Stetson, the consultant, outlined the net steps as well as the General Plan schedule <br />and the multiple opportunities for public input. Ms. Stetson explained that this information <br />would d b n the w b lte. The public was invited to join the consultants in the foyer and <br />provide comment cards. Mayor Foust thanked all those present and asked therm to stay <br />committed to this process. <br />6.
