He thanked council and asked for its approval on this project. <br />Public comment <br />D r. Emerita Orta-Camilleri (Superintendent of the Bemont Redwood Shores School <br />District) thanked Council for this project and shared her excitement. She explained the <br />benefits of this project and the timeline, which is to have the school ready In 2009. Dr. <br />rtar --Ca milieri explained the challenges parents currently face with child placement. <br />She provided details on the Design/Planning Committee activities and she has invited <br />Council and staff to participate it this group. <br />Jennifer B enefli, representing the Board of Trustees for the Belmont-Redwood Shores <br />School Board, opined this is a time to celebrate. she thanked Mr. Passanisi and the <br />Planning Commission for their hard work. Ms. Berelli said this project is a success for <br />all parties involved, especially the community. <br />Peter Hughes, a member of the Area H School Advisory Committee, found this a grin <br />grin situation. He opined that the environment, the children and the city benefit from this <br />project. He endorsed it and invited people to attend a r eetin of the Hone Owners <br />F <br />Association of edwood shores on vednesda�y February 3 9n at :00 p.m. at the <br />Sandpiper Community Center. <br />Doug Crisman, a new member of the School Advisory Committee, offered his support to <br />the Precise Plan. He stated that this project provides numerous benefits to the <br />community, city and the educational system. <br />Bonnie Wolfe shared her excitement about this milestone because she is a parent and <br />an eight -year resident of the area who has to drive her son to Belmont everyday <br />because Sandpiper School 9s full. she supports the Precise Plan and all the benefits <br />that come with it. she believes there is a need for this school to be operational b <br />20 0 9 . <br />Carole Wong spoke as the President of the Redwood Shores Owners Association <br />President and her primary mission was to comment on preserving the look, feel and <br />identity of the area. she referred to a handout called Response Matrix, and on page <br />five of thirteen (item , she said that there is a revised plan and so this point is now <br />root. Ms, Wong also requested that the Precise Plan, if approved, should supersede <br />and override the imposition of a plant palette for the Master Homeowners Association. <br />Mr. Parssanisl senior Planner, confirmed that was the case on the last issue presented <br />b Ms. Won <br />M/S Bain /Aguirre to close the public hearing. Motion carries by voice Grote with three <br />cno1*1 Members rs (Foust, Hartnett and Ira). <br />Council posed questions about hove to best manage the goose population. staff said <br />that this issue will be taken into consideration. Water and traffic were also discussed <br />and commented upon.
