oziosizo � z <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 75165 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCI� OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY CLOSING BEECH STREET BETWEEN ELM STREET AND <br /> CEDAR STREET TO EXPAND A CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOG PARK <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City ("City") desires to enlarge Main Street <br /> Park to create a dog park area where residents can exercise their dogs off leash; and <br /> WHEREAS, Beech Street between Elm Street and Cedar 5treet is adjacent to <br /> Main Street Park and because of the configuration of the streets in that area is no <br /> longer necessary for City traffic use and in its current configuration tends to be used <br /> only for parking; and <br /> WHEREAS, the length of Beech street to be closed is approximately 7000 <br /> square feet; and <br /> WHEREAS, closing Beech Street between Elm Street and Cedar Street is <br /> consistent with the General Plan for the City of Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 21101 of the California Vehicle Code authorizes a city to <br /> close a public street when that street is no longer needed for vehicular traffic. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and constitute the findings <br /> in this matter. <br /> 2. Pursuant to Section 21101 of the California Vehicle Code, Beech Street <br /> between Elm Street and Cedar Street is hereby ordered closed to vehicular traffic to be <br /> used for an expansion of Main Street Park. <br /> 3. This action is categorically exempt from the California Environmental <br /> Quality Act pursuant to California Code of Regulations Section 15300 et seq. <br /> 4.
