Statements to the <br />media or the public should be through the Chair in <br />collaboration with the City's Public Information Manager. <br />V. City Policies and Procedures <br />➢ Swearing In and Oath of Office <br />Before taking office, each BCC member must be sworn in by taking the Oath of <br />Office to swear, or affirm, that he or she will support and defend the Constitution of <br />the United States and the Constitution of the State of California against all enemies, <br />foreign and domestic; that he or she will bear true faith and allegiance to the <br />Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California; that <br />he or she takes this obligation freely, without mental reservation or purpose of <br />evasion; and that he or she will well and faithfully discharge the duties upon which he <br />or she is about to enter. <br />24 <br />
