5- 3-z <br />What is the future of GIS in Redwood City? <br />Currently, only certain Departments have access to GIS software. Because of its citywide <br />application, staff is working to release this application to all city staff. lip addition, staff is <br />planning to put certain GIS maps on its new web site to communicate important in °ormation <br />to the public (e.g. street cleaning schedules, location of child care services, etc.). GIS will <br />also be an important analytical tool for the General Plan update. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funds for GIS have been designated in the City's Capital Improvement Program and also <br />in the Information Technology Funds.
