M10 <br />Redwood City Capital Campaign Plan <br />Introduction: <br />Redwood City Police Activities League engaged in a planning process and advanced gift <br />program to pre,')are fora $4.5 million dollar comprehensive capital fundraising campaign <br />which focuses on the need for capital funds for the PAL Community Center. The <br />advance stage of the campaign began in early 2001. To date we have raised over 60% <br />of the total campaign amount of $4,500,000. <br />THIS DOCUMENT IS THE Capital Campaign Plan. It has been prepared to accomplish <br />several objectives: <br />• To establish the basic fundraising principle on which a community wide <br />fundraising program can be developed. <br />• To outline the overall or "core" plan for the Campaign including the <br />organizational structure, both volunteer and professional, which will be required. <br />• To define and describe the relationship required for such an effort: <br />• Community planning and participation <br />• Prospect identification, management and research <br />• Formation of fund <br />• Major gifts phase <br />• Goal setting <br />• Cultivation and involvement of prospects and leadership <br />_ <br />• To establish a timeline for key activities required for the Campaign. <br />Premises of the Capital Camoaian Plan <br />The Capital Campaign Plan is based on the following assumptions: <br />• The Campaign will be authorized by the Chief of Police and under the aegis of <br />the Redwood City Police Activities League Board of Directors. <br />• The period of intense fundraising shall be between the period of January 2002 — <br />December 2004. <br />• The goal of the Campaign is $4.5 million. At this time, the remaining amount to <br />be raised is 1.5 million. <br />• The personal solicitations of prospects will be concentrated on those believed to <br />be able to contribute $5,000 or more. <br />• Gifts will be sought in all forms, including cash and securities, real and personal <br />property trust, life income agreements, pledges and any combination of these. <br />Commitments may be paid over 3 year (over 5 if $20,000 or above.) <br />Persoective <br />This plan encompasses the basic requirements for organizing and seeking contributions <br />to the Redwood City PAL Community Center Capital Campaign. This campaign will be <br />designed to appeal to PAL families, the Redwood City Community, foundations, <br />
