May represent the Fire Department on various national, state and regional <br /> committees; attends functions relating to fire, life safety and the fire code. <br /> QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Knowledqe of: <br /> Principles, practices, and techniques of fire prevention. <br /> Principles and practices of employee supervision, training and evaluation <br /> Department budget preparation and techniques <br /> Federal, State and Local fire prevention codes and ordinances. <br /> Principles and techniques of building inspection work. <br /> City Fire Department policies and procedures. <br /> Practices, procedures, and equipment used in fire investigations, including <br /> the ability to recognize and collect evidence. <br /> Procedures and techniques and equipment such as fire extinguishers, <br /> sprinkler systems, and alarm systems. <br /> Abilitv to: <br /> Apply technical knowledge and follow proper inspection techniques and detect <br /> deviations from plans, regulations and standard safety practices. <br /> Plan, assign, coordinate and manage the functions and activities of assigned <br /> areas <br /> Supervise, train, and develop employees effectively <br /> Coordinate activities of staff assigned including predominance evaluation or <br /> recommendation or actions to superiors <br /> Develop effective fire prevention programs <br /> 3 <br /> RESO. # 15173 <br /> MUFF # 903 <br />
