6.1. B. - Page 1
RE PO RT
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the Cit Mana er
April 9, 2012
SUBJECT
Shelter Network Redwood Family House Funding Agreement for Fiscal Year 2011-2012
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize by motion the City Manager to execute the Shelter Network Redwood Family
House Funding Agreement for Fiscal Year 2011-2012.
BACKGROUND
As part of the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 Budget deliberations, the City Council decided to
fund Shelter Network's Redwood Family House in the amount of $34,800 per year for
Fiscal Years 2011-2012, 2012-2013, and 2013-14.
In the past, this funding has been included under the CDBG funding agreement with
Shelter Network for Redwood Family House, but because the Council decision was
made after the CDBG funding agreements were already being processed for Fiscal
Year 2011-2012, it was not included. The Shelter Network agreements for FY 2012-13
and FY 2013-14 will be processed along with the other CDBG funding agreements in
each respective fiscal year.
ANALYSIS
A funding agreement is needed to be able to allocate funds to Shelter Network. The
funding agreement between the City of Redwood City and Shelter Network for the
operations of Redwood Family House for FY 2011-2012 is attached.
ALTERNATIVES
Council could instruct staff to allocate funds without funding agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT
The $34,800 for Shelter Network's Redwood Family House was approved by Council as
a part of the City budget for Fiscal Year 2011-2012.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section
15378, as it involves funding a housing referral organization, which is an administrative
activity.
