B. - Page 4 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> MANAGER TO EXECUTE, AN OWNERSHIP, OPERATION, AND <br /> MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT AMONG THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY, C/CAG, AND THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO FOR <br /> DEVELOPMENT OF THE SMART CORRIDORS PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, on November 10, 2008, the San Mateo City/County Association of <br /> Governments (C/CAG) made a presentation to the City Council of Redwood City on the <br /> 2020 Peninsula Gateway Corridor Study, which recommended the implementation of <br /> the San Mateo County Smart Corridors Project; and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 24, 2008, the City Council of Redwood City approved <br /> and authorized the City Manager, by Resolution 14910, to execute a Memorandum of <br /> Understanding (MOU) between C/CAG and other local agencies to acknowledge the <br /> Smart Corridors Project, and to agree to work cooperatively to assist in development of <br /> the Smart Corridors Project; and <br /> WHEREAS, C/CAG is the sponsor agency for the development and <br /> implementation of the Smart Corridors Project; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Smart Corridors Project is a cooperative effort among various <br /> local jurisdictions, and countywide regional transportation agencies; and <br /> WHEREAS, the goal of the Smart Corridors Project is to implement an incident <br /> management program to divert and relieve traffic from Highway 101 in case of <br /> emergencies by deploying intelligent transportation system elements in order to manage <br /> traffic congestion; and <br /> WHEREAS, C/CAG seeks to enter into an Ownership, Operation, and <br /> Maintenance (OOM) Agreement with the City of Redwood City and the County of San <br /> Mateo for the purpose of outlining and defining the roles, responsibilities, terms, and <br /> conditions for the ownership, operation and maintenance of the equipment and <br /> components that are incorporated and integrated into the San Mateo County Smart <br /> Corridors Project. <br /> ATTY/RES0.2221 /SMART CORRIDOR <br /> REV:03-29-12 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
