Your commitment to the Redwood City community is commendable. As you know, with major construction imminently beginning on the Middlefield Road parking lot, and indeed, in many other downtown areas,the City is working very hard on balancing traffic flow, street closures, and minimizing impact to businesses. We met to discuss this situation on Friday, March 15th in my office with Don Gibson and Lucas Wilder. We agreed that with the need to close streets early for vendors and with the equal desire to support businesses affected by the pending construction, we would look at other possible locations to move the Farmers Market. The following week, you called to inform me that Rotary would like to put the Farmers Market on hiatus for the next two years instead of moving the market. Therefore, pursuant to our recent discussion, I am writing to provide written notice pursuant to Section 16 of the License Agreement that the City is terminating the License Agreement and your right to use the Farmer's Market Area in the Downtown area for a Farmers Market. Again, I appreciate your understanding and unwavering support of Redwood City as we work to accommodate the many activities taking place Downtown, including new construction.
