Commercial Sewer Customers Commercial sewer rates vary by customer class, or type of business, as shown below. Charges are calculated by multiplying each customer's rate by their metered water use during the billing period. Commercial customers pay a minimum monthly charge equal to the residential Basic Service Charge. PUBLIC HEARING ON RECOMMENDED RATES The City Council for the City of Redwood City hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held at its meeting on May 7, 2012 at 7:00 pm at City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. At this hearing,the City Council will consider public comment as well as written protests by property owners or customers responsible for payment of the charges against the proposed increase in water and sewer rates. If written protests represent a majority of affected parcels, the city Council will not increase the rates as a matter of law. If you wish to file a written protest, please send a letter in a sealed envelope addressed to Water and Sewer Rates, City Clerk, City of Redwood City, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA 94063.Your letter must identify the real property you own or occupy by service address or assessor's parcel number. Your letter must be legibly signed by any one of the current property owners or rate-paying customers on record. Only one protest per parcel will be counted. The City of Redwood City must receive your letter at City Hall by 5:00 pm on Monday,May 7,2012 or it must be presented at the City Council meeting at 7:00 pm, Monday, May 7,2012 prior to the close of the public hearing on the matter.
