One Council Member would
like to have a full review of the "bucket" properties. Another Council Member noted that
the County of San Mateo is assessing its properties and it would be good to integrate it
with our property list. This Council Member wants to be able to understand what the
City is doing and other entities nearby such as the post office. Another Council Member
noted that the armory is being closed. Vice Mayor Gee wanted to allow contingencies
for wild card issues that come up.
City Manager Bell thanked the facilitator and he said there will be a second Study
Session on City-Owned property. He added that staff will be working on taking Guiding
Principles into a Policy and will plug in some of the current properties. This will be part
of a matrix which will consider adjacent properties. Dr. Bell added that at that time the
Council's role will get better defined.
10. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST
Council Member Foust commented on two individuals at the Costco parking lot who fed
birds by dumping boxes of crumbs. City Attorney Thompson advised the Council that
Code Enforcement can inform the property owner, so he or she can contact their
lawyers for enforcement. City Manager Bell offered to notify the property owner, and let
them know this has been reported by a Council Member. This Council Member
believes this is a health issue. One Council Member noted that the same issue
occurred at Woodside Plaza not too long ago.
Mayor Aguirre invited the public to the Port's 75th Anniversary and announced there will
be ships doing tours for the public.
Council Member Seybert noted that this Saturday there will be a Kennedy School
fundraiser breakfast that supports their trip to the Grand Canyon.
A.
