6.1. D. - Page 3
FISCAL IMPACT
Providing automatic aid to the USCG and neighboring jurisdictions for maritime
emergencies will have a negligible impact on Fire Department expenditures (some
increased fuel and maintenance costs due to the increase in vehicle and equipment
operations) and can be absorbed with current funding levels. However, participation in a
regional automatic aid agreement will increase the Fire Department's opportunities to
offset these and other related costs with grants and hazard abatement fees paid by
commercial shipping in the Bay Region. This agreement also does not limit the Fire
Department from seeking reimbursement from a responsible party when allowed by law.
In those instances where this is allowed, the agency having jurisdiction will seek
reimbursement on behalf of the other responding agencies.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines section 15378,
because it involves continuing administrative activities and has no potential for resulting
in either a direct or foreseeable physical change in the environment.
. . y i
 4 - ° . _. .
GINA KUNDERT
FIRE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
.f
STAN MAUPIN
DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF

ROBERT B.
