B. - Page 1 <br /> RE PO RT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the Cit Mana er <br /> June 18, 2012 <br /> SUBJECT <br /> Housing and Human Concerns Committee Fiscal Year 2012/2013 Funding <br /> Recommendations for Redwood City Human Services Financial Assistance (HSFA) <br /> Program <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve Funding Recommendations for HSFA for FY 2012/2013. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> As part of the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 Budget deliberations, the City Council decided to <br /> fund the Human Services Financial Assistance Program (HSFA) in the amounts of <br /> $117,511 for Fiscal Year 2011-2012 and $58,756 for Fiscal Year 2012-2013. <br /> A Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) and Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued in <br /> December 2011. Staff offered a mandatory technical assistance workshop for all HSFA <br /> ap�licants on December 15, 2011. Agencies submitted their final proposals on January <br /> 20 ", 2012. On February 28, agencies appeared before the HHCC to make brief <br /> presentations and answer questions about their proposals. <br /> As part of the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 Budget deliberations, the City Council also <br /> decided to fund Shelter Network's Redwood Family House in the amount of $34,800 per <br /> year from general fund for Fiscal Years 2011-2012, 2012-2013, and 2013-2014. <br /> Because of this, funding for Shelter Network's Redwood Family House is not being <br /> brought to City Council for separate approval this year, but will be part of the approved <br /> budget proposal. In addition, on April 23, 2012, Council approved CDBG funding in the <br /> amount of $26,090 for Shelter Network's Redwood Family House for FY 2012-2013. <br /> ANALYSIS <br /> On March 7 the HHCC met to consider their funding recommendations for Fiscal Year <br /> 2012-2013. The Committee recommendations for funding are contained in Attachment <br /> 1 of this report. Attachment 1 also includes funding amounts received for Fiscal Year <br /> 2011-2012. Attachment 2 includes a brief description of each agency and their funding <br /> request. (Please note that a white binder with the full agency applications is available at <br /> the City Clerk's Office). <br />
