<br /> runs (three in each direction} over a measured mile or haif mile caurse, or by global ;
<br /> positioning data, in water at least thirty (30) feet deap. During this test, engine tempexatures, '
<br /> pressures, pipiz�g and connections shall be nn.onxtored by an engine manufacturer's technical ;
<br /> representative. The main engines must nat exceed the manufacturer's certified continuous �

<br /> 3.15.5 Maneuvering Acceptance Test - The boat sha.Il be tested for stability and i ',

<br /> handliz�.g chaxacteristics. Examples of dangerous and undesirabie handling characteristics are I
<br /> broaching, exces,�ive rolling, loss of power, loss o�r steering control, excessive wave impact '�
<br /> while underway, or excessive seepage of water into the cabinlpzlothouse ar bilge. The boat '
<br /> shall be tested far ability to make an emergency stop at ma�imurn speed by lowering i.he
<br /> reversing buckets of the r�vaterjets.
<br /> 3.15.6 Vibration Acceptarice Test - Vibration which can damage or fatigue structure, j
<br /> elect�rzca,l, machinery, piping or electronic components of the boat may result in a rejection. i
<br /> 3.15.7 Severe Weather Acce�tance Test - This test sha11 be conducted in wa��� of 3�foot '
<br /> significant height. The boat shall not exhibit undesixable or dangerous chaxacteristics.

<br /> Examples of undeszrable ar dangerous handling charactexzstzcs are broaching, �xcessiva
<br /> rolling, loss o� power, loss of steering cantrol, excessive vva�e impact while underway, or '
<br /> excessive seepage o�water into the cabin/pilothouse or bzlge. The speed requirement for this '
<br /> test i� ten (10) knots.
<br /> 3.15.8 Pump Acceptanee Test � The Redwood City k'ire Department shall conduct a
<br /> j standard fire pump acceptance test that complies with NI'PA Standard 1925 guidelines.
<br /> � During these tests, engine pressures and fcmperatures shall not exceed naanufacfurer's limits.
<br /> Special attention will be paid to inonitoring piping, Fuei system, engine mounts and engine ,
<br /> controls for weaicness, �ea�cage or failure.
<br /> 3.15.9 Fittings Acceptance Test - All weather tight and watertight fittxngs and a11 structure
<br /> shall be froe Prom lealcage when exposed to a 40-psi stream from a 5/8�inch nozzle at a
<br /> distance of eightoen (i 8) inchcs. Test a�' each fitting shall be For ten (10) minutes. '
