6.1.G. - Page 4 �� - �2��2 CI� � 463 Brewster Street Suite 4 Redwood City, Ca. 94063 2012 July 4th Independence Day Celebration Event Summary The Peninsula Celebration Association (PCA)is requesting a special events permit to conduct the 74th annual Independence Day Celebration in Redwood City on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. The activities to be conducted by the PCA will be: • The Invitational Parade starting at 10:00 am. • The Arts & Crafts Festival from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The following activities to be conducted by other organizations: • Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Service Department will sponsor the annual Fun Run before the parade. The Fun Run will be organized and conducted by the Redwood City Education Foundation and will utilize the parade route. • Let's Talk Events will hold a car show on Broadway between El Camino and Perry Street. As done in previous years, other groups conducting activities as part of the special events permit will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines the specific areas of their responsibility and liabilities and include the PCA as an additional insured. Event Details The Invitational Parade The annual Independence Day parade is produced for entertainment purposes and may include decorated floats, marching bands, drill teams, vintage and/or municipal vehicles, equestrian units, civic officials, invited guests,participating sponsors, and other entries as approved by the PCA. As the parade organizers, the PCA may, at their discretion,limit the types and number of entries in any category. • Parade Route: starting at Winslow and Marshall proceeding east to Main, turning right onto Main proceeding to Middlefield, turning right onto Middlefield proceeding to Winslow,proceeding on Winslow to Broadway, turning left on Broadway proceeding to Arguello,proceeding on Arguello and terminating at Alden Street.
