DES:dft /21/95 (007/12) <br /> 0 R I G I N A L 3/13/95 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2087 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br /> DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT RELATING TO WESTPORT SPECIFIC <br /> PLAN AND MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND STATEMENT OF <br /> OVERRIDING CONSIDERATIONS PERTAINING THERETO <br /> <br /> (GID 1-64; WESTPORT INVESTMENTS) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of. Title 7, Article 8 <br />(commencing with §65450) of the California Government Code, the <br />City may prepare and adopt specific plans as may in its judgment <br />be required for the systematic implementation of the City's <br />General Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Westport Investments ("Westport") is the owner of <br />approximately 85.285 acres of vacant land (the "Property") <br />described as parcels A and B of Parcel Map No. 84-6, located <br />within the City of Redwood City and General Improvement District <br />No. 1-64 ("GID 1-64"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Westport proposes to develop the Property for <br />commercial use, which development consists of some twenty (20) <br />buildings, not to exceed three (3) stories in height, with a <br />total density of 980,000 square feet (the "Project"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, portions of the Property were formerly used as a <br />sanitary landfill site; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an environmental impact report ("EIR"), prepared in <br />accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (Pub. <br />Res. C. 821000 et seq.; "CEQA") for a prior project proposed to <br />be located on the Property, was certified by the Planning <br />Commission on November 4, 1975, which EIR was supplemented by a <br />Soils Report dated September 16, 1983, and a Traffic Study dated <br /> <br /> <br />
