DES:djk '/10/95 (029/9) <br /> <br /> published by the United States Department of Labor, Bureau <br /> of Labor'Statistics, for the 12-month period ending the last <br /> day of February of each year. The adjustments shall become <br /> effective the next ensuing fiscal year. Each such adjustment <br /> shall be applicable to the respective elements (i.e., base <br /> tax, tax amount multiplied by the average number of <br /> employees and the unit tax amounts) of the business license <br /> tax in effect for the immediately preceding fiscal year. In <br /> the event the CPI is no longer published, the Director shall <br /> select a price index most nearly conforming to the CPI." <br /> <br /> SECTION 5. Section 32.155 of Chapter 32 of the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 32.155. Maximum. Notwithstanding anything to <br />the contrary contained in this Article, the annual business <br />license tax payable for any one business shall not exceed <br />$3030.00, commencing in fiscal year 1994-95. Commencing in <br />fiscal year 1995-96, and for each successive fiscal year <br />thereafter, the foregoing maximum amount shall be adjusted by <br />a percentage equal to the percentage change in the Consumer <br /> <br /> Price Index (CPI) for all Urban Consumers for the San <br /> Francisco-Oakland-San Jose areas published by the United <br /> States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, for <br /> the 12-month period ending the last day of February of each <br /> year. The adjustment shall become effective the next <br /> ensuing fiscal year.
