The title of Chapter 14 of the Code of the City <br />of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Refuse, Weed, Nuisance and Abandoned Shopping Cart <br /> Regulation and Abatement. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. Article VI is hereby added to Chapter 14 of the <br />Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "ARTICLE VI. <br /> <br /> "Abatement of Abandoned Shopping Carts <br /> <br /> "Section 14.90. Purpose. The purpose of this Article <br /> is to promote the public health, safety and general welfare <br /> by facilitating the removal of wrecked, dismantled and <br /> abandoned shopping carts, laundry carts, and parts thereof, <br /> from public property and thereby to alleviate the safety <br /> hazards, unsafe conditions, and the impairment of property <br /> values which result from the abandonment of such carts. <br /> <br /> "Section 14.91. Definitions. For purposes of this <br /> Article the following words and terms shall have the meaning <br /> respectively ascribed thereto: <br /> <br /> (a) Cart - a Shopping Cart or Laundry Cart as herein- <br /> <br /> after defined. <br /> <br /> (b) Director - the Director of General Services of the <br /> City, or his or her designee. <br /> <br /> (c) Laundry Carts - a basket which is mounted on <br /> <br /> <br />
