What is impor�ent aestheticelly abaut my neighborhood is the�cmi-rural c�aracter of ti�e north side af Finger Avenue,with many homea set far bsck&nm the skeel.The appeaiance of la:ge amnusts of open specc with matune,old growt�trces,provides a shiking backdrop to ihe homes.The contr�st betrveen the north side of Finger Avenue end its south side,wit3i its many qusint,early 20„`century bungeiows and couages,is soinething that's unique to �te�dwaod City and treasured by its reside�s. $xamples of how bhe Finger Avenue Projoct significantly degrades thc aesthetics of ow neigh6arhood ere: ■ Cons�uction of two homes with wide two-stary Facadea sct back the minimuin alloweble diatance from the streei.There are no houses that large set that close W the streEt anywhere ia ow aeighborhood.- * Nowhere elsc on Finger A+venue are homes this large placed on lots thia small. • All of 1he homes are of similar s�ze and all twasiory,as oppose�to the mix of home sizes and heights that aie rep�eaentative of the north side of Finger Avenue. � • iNost of thesc nine homes will be viewable from the public s�eet.Them is little open space and the homes are only set bsck a�aall3istaru�e from the narmw that serves them(some from 3ft—6ft from the alleyway.) Nowhere in our neighborhoad are houaes situatcd in this fashian. • A development this densely packed is incompatible with the prescnce of la�ge mature frees on the site.The evemual Ioss ot't�ese tnees will be irreversi�le. . The breakup oFthe north side of Fiwger Are.by creating twa new iniersections.The narrow allcyway buiit for the devefopment fails to integrate with F'inger Avenuc by not hsving s sidewslk or plaz�ting strip against the roQdway. • 'The one-wsy alloyway will require street sig�s on Finger Ave to direcl uaffic,further compromising the aharecter ofthe north side af the street.
