What is important aesthetically about my neighborhaod is the semi-rura�character of the � north side of Finger Avenue,w[th many homes set far b�ck fram the street,The appearance of large arnounts of open space witlt mature,old grawCh trees,provides a striking backdrop to the homes.The contrast between the nartl�side of Finger Avenue an d its sauth slde,with its many yuaint,ear�y 20°h century bungalows aRd cattages,is something that's unique to Redwoad City and treasured by its residents, Examples of how the Finger Avenue Project signif�cantly degrades the aesthetics of nur neighbqrhood are: • Canstructian of two homes with wide two-story facades set back the minimum allowable distance froen the street.There ate no hauses that large set that close to the street anywhere in our ne9ghbothood. • Nowhere else on�n�er Avenue are hames this Iarge p�aced on lots this small, • All nf ths hames are af similar size and all two-story,as opposed ta the mix of hame sizes and heights that are representative of the north side oEFinger Avenue. • Most of these ni�tie hornes will be viewable from the public street,There is Iittle open space and rhe home5 are only set�ack a small distance from the narrow that serves thern (some frorn 3ft w 6ft Fram the al�eyway,) Nawhere in our neighborhood are hauses situated in this fashion, .
