Section - Claim(s) and Check(s) <br /> A. Approve claims and checks dated January 23, 2012 and the usual and <br /> necessary payments through February 6, 2012. (303) <br /> MINUTE ORDER 12-016 <br /> 7. PUBLIC HEARING(S) <br /> A. Middlefield Road Underground Utility District No. 2011-1 - Introduction <br /> and Public Hearing. (804) <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Waive first reading and introduce proposed Ordinance creating the <br /> Middlefield Road Underground Utility District No. 2011-1 and conduct Public <br /> Hearing and authorize City Manager to approve all related agreements. <br /> ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT IN A <br /> PORTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; DESIGNATING SAID DISTRICT <br /> AS MIDDLEFIELD ROAD UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 2011-1; <br /> DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID DISTRICT; ESTABLISHING WHAT <br /> UTILITY FACILITIES WILL BE MAINTAINED ABOVE GROUND; AND <br /> ESTABLISHING THE TIME BY WHICH POLES AND OVERHEAD WIRES SHALL <br /> BE REMOVED AND UNDERGROUND SERVICE PROVIDED <br /> Bill Ekern, Community Development Director, presented the report briefly explaining the <br /> benefits of a Utility District. Council inquired about the County's role and about a <br /> particular owner. Mr. Ekern provided answers to both concerns. <br /> There was no public comment. <br /> M/S Foust/Seybert to close the Public Hearing. Motion carried by unanimous voice <br /> vote with Council Member Bain absent. <br /> M/S Foust/Seybert to introduce the ordinance.
