He noted that the water feature will need to be further
discussed with the developers because of the need to dewater the property, should
developers pursue that option.
One Council Member was very appreciative of this effort and he is anxious to see it and
to see it accelerated to move it right along to the City Council. Two Council Members
appreciated the work that went into the water feature and the potential for the lease
issue. Various Council Members appreciated the staff work completed.
9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST
A. City Council Members Oral Reports of Conferences/Meetings Attended
Council Member Foust reported on a meeting she attended with Council Member Pierce
and Vice Mayor Gee as the Council's High Speed Rail subcommittee. She noted that
there has been a request for a two billion dollar early investment in the Northern corridor
electrification and the same for a Southern corridor. She said that more information will
be forthcoming. Council Member Pierce noted that this subcommittee said they were
supportive of electrification but the details need to be studied and analyzed. This
Council Member would like to report on a meeting she attended on Realignment with a
member of the Police Department on early release and integration of individuals who
return to society after being incarcerated. She will check in with the Chief on this matter.
Mayor Aguirre shared that the Tall Ships were at the Port and she will bring the silver
coins to the City. She noted that when she was there on Saturday there was hardly
anyone there from Redwood City but, Triple AAA magazine, VIA, advertised it and
many people from the Bay Area in general were present.
B.
