The consultant explained <br /> the affordable housing needs. He covered the basic human needs seniors and <br /> disabled receive and require. Mr. Manuel, representing the Housing and Human <br /> Concerns Committee, presented the recommendations for Council consideration. One <br /> Council Member would like Redwood City to be a model for shared services. She sees <br /> this as an opportunity to work together and take a proactive approach to make San <br /> Mateo County a model test case. <br /> Mayor Ira opened the Public Hearing. <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Anika Stevens, representing Project Sentinel, thanked the City for providing funds for <br /> housing services and shared some of their experiences working with the community, <br /> particularly with fair housing issues. <br /> Laura Fanucchi, representing Hip Housing, thanked the Council for supporting their <br /> home sharing program and spoke about some of their experiences in matching seniors <br /> with housing close to transportation and stores.
