Recognition of "Clean the Park" Birthday Theme Party at Stulsaft Park — <br /> Chris Beth, Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br /> Mr. Chris Beth, Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, introduced Lily <br /> Mein and her Mom, Nancy Mein, who thanked the Council for the recognition. Mayor Ira <br /> believes this is representative of building community and a community in action. <br /> B. Presentation: California Fire Chief s Association's 2010 Building Official <br /> of the Year— presented by Scott Alber, Past President of the Marin County Fire <br /> Department to John La Torra, Chief Building Official <br /> Mr. Alber explained why Chief Building Official John La Torra received such award. He <br /> brought a sense of collaboration between different organizations. Mr. La Torra was <br /> grateful for this honor and in particular he thanked his wife for her support. <br /> 6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Blake Lyon, Senior Planner, made some opening remarks about the scope of the <br /> contract in Consent Calendar and how this is setting up the work towards the public <br /> process that will involve the community. The Mayor said that each speaker will have one <br /> minute and this portion of the agenda will take 15 minutes. <br /> Isabel Jimenez supports the consultants and the continued study of the Saltworks Project. <br /> She also wanted to remind people about the event "Grooving in the Grove". <br /> Janet Borgens echoed Isabel and comments announced that Relay for Life's took place <br /> this weekend. <br /> Nedra Moore spoke in support of Schaberg Library and opposed the new hours. <br /> Pat Dixon asked if Council received her e-mail regarding the Cringle Stop sign. She <br /> expressed her thanks to Council for the Cringle stop sign on the Consent Calendar. She <br /> would like Marilyn Harang to have it installed as soon as possible. <br /> Brianna Guerrero thanked Council for the stop sign at Cringle. <br /> Foster Kinney publicly admitted that he did not make his mind up yet on the issue of <br /> Salfinrorks, however he has made up his mind that the property owner has rights to a full <br /> review of the proposal. He hoped that Council would approve the agreement tonight. <br /> Merrily Robinson made comments about the Saltworks issue and the possible impacts. <br /> Kaia Eakin thanked everyone for their care for Redwood City and she believes that the <br /> perception is that Redwood City does not care about other people's opinion. She asked <br /> everyone to stand who was present in opposition of this issue. She opined that Redwood <br /> is ignoring regional input. <br /> Mimi Campbell shared her disappointment at moving this matter forward. <br /> Shelley Kessler said she supports making decisions based on fact and information.
